April 2015 was an epic month for Imua Family Services! The 68 year old non-profit provides critical comprehensive therapeutic services to children on Maui and had much to celebrate. Also the Week of the Young Child, IFS held their anniversary celebration and fundraising gala at the  Hyatt Regency Maui on Friday April 3. The agency followed Fantasia Ball with a move into their new Early Childhood Development Center in Kahului. This year the gala fundraiser exceeded agency expectations and raised $87,000.00 to support the Early Childhood Development Program, a program that provides much needed therapy services to children age 3 to 6 who age out of services from the Department of Health and would otherwise not qualify for Department of Education special services. The fundraiser exceeded its goal by over $30,000.00. Dean Wong, Executive Director believes that when you exceed the expectations of the people who have come to support you then they will rise to the occasion.

In the same month the organization announced that it would expand services to include the island of Moloka’i thus making Imua Family Services a Maui County wide agency!
