E Holomua Kakou – Moving Forward Together
On Saturday, August 9, 2014 Imua Family Services, and our team of specialized children’s therapists, will host a free screening fair at Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center between 10am-2pm in Kahului. Families will have the opportunity to meet and speak with our therapists regarding their child’s development, strengths and any possible areas of concerns. If you are a parent/caregiver and are unsure of typical developmental milestones for your child; this is the perfect opportunity to find out where your child is. Imua Family Services staff will provide answers to your child and your family.
The Queen Kaahumanu Center Stage will be surrounded by individual talk story sessions where parents can have private one-on-one conversations at a table with Imua’s highly qualified team of Early Childhood Intervention Specialist. On stage Auntie Ro (Rochelle Dunning, Special Instruction Teacher), and Uncle Deano (Dean Wong, Imua’s Executive Director) will entertain keiki with playtime Puppets and sing-a-longs. Special appearances will include Maui Taiko and Queen Kaahumanu Center Sanrio’s Hello Kitty.
Our Speech Language Pathologists will be available to communicate in American Sign Language for those who need it. Our staff includes a variety of specialists such as Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Special Instruction Teachers and Educators as well as Imua’s Care Coordination services staff.
The event focuses on children from birth through age 6. Each child/family that receives a screening from Imua’s team will receive a coupon for a free train ride on the Cubby Caboose (valid that day only!)
