KAHULUI, MAUI, February 26, 2018, Hawaii Business Magazine has named Imua Family Services one of the 2018 Best Places to Work in Hawaii again for the seventh consecutive year, with a total of 9 awards being granted over the years.  The list of “Best Places to Work” is published annually by Hawaii Business Magazine. As in previous years, the data from Imua Family Services employees was gathered and analyzed by the Best Companies Group – an independent research organization which conducts similar research in states throughout the country. Imua Family Services has been awarded the Best Places to Work award in 2008, 2010, and for seven years in a row since 2012.

The survey and awards program identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment in Hawaii and the nation.  Companies are selected after a review of each organization’s benefits, career development, training and retention as well as feedback from employees through an extensive survey. Imua will receive their 2018 award on Thursday, March 29th at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort on Oahu, in a ceremony honoring companies who were given the award.

”For me this Best Places to Work recognition is the most meaningful of our already nine awards, because this past year was one of our most difficult business years in recent years.  We celebrated our 70th Anniversary and actively engaged Staff and Board of Directors in Design Thinking and Strategic Planning in order to begin to chart our course for our 100th anniversary and beyond. Our goal is to reach our full potential so we can help the children of Maui County and all of Hawaii reach theirs,” says Executive Director, Dean Wong.

This year with reductions in State and Federal funding for non-profits across the islands, Imua and its staff are committed to maintaining previous levels of support for kieki and their families.  To help continue to meet the needs of children on Maui, Molokai and Lanai, Imua Family Services recently announced the new Imua Festivals of the World event series.  The kickoff event begins with the annual fundraising gala, the Bollywood Ball, a star-studded India themed extravaganza, featuring Broadway sensations Teal Wicks & Matt Doyle and over 60 entertainers at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa on Saturday, March 31st.  Immediately following the gala, the Taj Mahalo After Party, featuring Eric Gilliom and Next Level Entertainment, will keep the party on Ka’anapali Beach going until 2am.

The following day, on Sunday, April 1st, Imua presents the first annual Color Festival Hawaii at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center.  This family friendly music and color festival features multiple entertainers, DJ, local bands, dancers, food and the throwing of colors celebrating the arrival of spring and the spirit of inclusion and diversity.  These events are designed to provide the community ways to support Imua allowing them to help families and their children overcome developmental learning challenges and help them to reach their full potential.
