The First Annual Pedal Imua Benefit Ride This Sunday – Motorist Advisory

Kahului, MAUI – Tuesday, November 26, 2019 – Imua Family Services is proud to announce the First Annual Pedal Imua Benefit Ride will take place this Sunday, December 1st leaving and ending at the War Memorial Special Events Arena Lawn.  Pedal Imua is a 60 mile benefit ride around the famed West Maui Mountains or “Loop”, which has been named one of the 10 Best Rides in the World by Bicycle Magazine.  The inaugural event will raise funds for Dream Imua, a program that grants child-directed dream days to children in crisis or who have experienced life altering circumstances.

The Pedal Imua Committee would like to alert motorists to be aware of cyclists on the road on Sunday, December 1st.  Nearly 100 cyclist will be riding clockwise around the West Maui Mountains starting at 7:00am and the ride is expected to be completed by all cyclists by noon.  The event will start and end at the War Memorial in Wailuku.  Cyclists will be on the right hand side of the road and will follow the rules of the road.   Please share the road!

The Pedal Imua event is open to the public from 11am to 3pm and will feature an ‘Ohana Festival with live luau entertainment by the Old Lahaina Luau as well as kid’s activities, sponsor booths, prize drawings, food and beverage trucks.  The public is encouraged to come enjoy the ‘Ohana Festival and cheer riders as they cross the finish line.

“We are thrilled to launch the first ever Pedal Imua, an inclusive event for cyclists from all around the world to support children right here on Maui,” says Executive Director Dean Wong.  “Imua Family Services is honored to host this Gran Fondo event which we anticipate becoming a marquee annual cycling event on Maui.  Cyclists can dream big, ride around the stunning West Maui Mountains and at the same time help children in crisis dream big by supporting Dream Imua.”
